Teatru Astra is thrilled to announce an extraordinary cast of internationally acclaimed singers for its much-awaited brand new production of Verdi's Giovanna d'Arco on the 24th and 26th October 2024.

Soprano Sophie Gordeladze will take on the title role of Giovanna, the courageous and visionary heroine of Verdi's opera. Gordeladze, celebrated for her vibrant voice and emotive interpretations, is sure to deliver a captivating performance that will resonate with audiences long after the curtain closes.

Tenor Giulio Pelligra will perform the role of Carlo VII, showcasing his powerful voice and emotional depth in this challenging role. Pelligra, by now one of the veterans at Astra, has earned widespread acclaim for his performances of Italian opera, and his portrayal of the conflicted king is expected to be a highlight of the production.

Baritone Badral Chuluunbaatar will bring his powerful voice to the role of Giacomo, capturing the complex emotions and intense drama of this pivotal character. Known for his rich vocal timbre and compelling stage presence, Chuluunbaatar has captivated audiences around the globe with his performances in leading opera houses.

This production of Giovanna d'Arco will be directed by the celebrated Enrico Stinchelli, with the participation of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra under the dynamic baton of John Galea, Teatru Astra's resident opera conductor.
